Change of pace

EDIT:
The shorter version of all this long talk is that there will possibly not be an update wednesday, and possibly not on friday either. In fact, the next update might not be 'till monday, so brace yourselves for non-updateness for a while. Read below if you want to know why.

----------------------------------

Time for a change of pace. The katamari-antics are officially over with now (comic wise. I'm still having my brain consumed by it in real life) so I be thinking we need a change of pace.

"OMG it's a bad excuse to go back to once-per-week updating!"

Naw, not as such.
We might have to cut down on updates, but more on that in a minute.

I'm going to do a very serious story next. No humour, no fun at all, just a story.

Well, okay. I was inspired for the story by my cape. So I guess there's a bit of fun in there.

Anyway, to compensate for the lack of humour, I'm going to be doing more panels each page. Like seven or eight panels. I'll be able to do this because every page won't have to end in a punchline.

Of course, seven or eight panels take up a good deal of time to draw - especially when you're trying to do something serious. So I'm thinking there'll be no colour on this storyline. Maybe red, for the blood, but none beyond that. Oh yes, there'll be blood :3

Anyway, given the way school's been treating me lately, and given the way my updating has gotten spotty again, I'm thinking maybe we'll be going to a Monday/Thursday schedule for the duration of this story.
Maybe.

I dunno yet. I'll try drawing up a page and seeing what happens from there.

Newest resident of Cape Town

UPDATE:
Comic will be later still. Long story short, got locked outta the house, spent a long time with no art-gear and no computer.

If I can get my homework done in a reasonable timeframe, I'll see about the comic. It won't be in colour, though, not by a long shot.

Anyway, check back tomorrow at latest. If there's no comic, there will be one on Wednesday.

(PS: I've gotten myself a cape. Well, more or a cloak, really. It's black and snazzy and gives me command of the Dark Side of the Force.)

-----------------------------

Comic will be late, details later. Look for an update late monday evening.

I was attacked by a siamese bat

And maybe you're thinking: "he must mean a siamese cat".

No, a bat. They're more dangerous.

Anyway, school's taking me by surprise. 2.g really is a tougher year.

It's not that the subjects have gotten any harder, no.. It's more that there's approximately... oh, I dunno, eight or twelve times the homework to be done. Take tonight, for instance. I've got about 18 pages to read and several short analyzations to write to be turned in tomorrow. Plus, physics homework. I don't like physics. It hurts parts of my brain I never knew could hurt.

So I need a rythm. I'm thinking I should be able to do the linearts in recess, then do the scan and colour when I get home. However, I'll need to produce at least one strip per day to keep up, and that'll be troublesome...

But what the eff. I'll take it as a test of my artistic ability.

... I need to start writing scripts.

Mumblegrumblestupidupdatingrizzumsnizzum...

teh suckage. Update missed again.

Eeh... I dunno if it's still Katamari eating my soul (WHEN WILL YOU BE FULL?!), or if it's school. I think it's school. Haven't had this much homework since... Well, never, actually. Geez. And we're barely a week into the school year.

Here's to you, danish educational system. Ye who steal our time and fill our heads with meaningless trivia.

Thar' y'ar!

There you go. New comic up - after much toil and trouble. I'm experimenting with a new way of making bubbles and boxes, and I'm using a new font. Both things I got from Nate Piekos , artiste awesome of Atland and Blambot fame.

Not that he gave them to me personally or anything. I just downloaded the font from Blambot and took a peek at his comic-tutorial over at Atland. I think it works. More original than the photoshop pre-defined shapes I been using up 'till now. More vertasile, too.

I'll be sticking with this, except in the unlikely case that a chorus of angry voices should rise up and demand I go back to pre-defined shapes of the past.

Na-na-na-na-naaa, katamari damacy...

I know I promised an update today, but... errr... SCHOOL GOT IN THE WAY! I swear! Honest! It was totally school, and not at all because I might have sorta accidentally-on-purpose picked up a game that may or may not be called "We <3 Katamari", and not because that purely hypothetical game has potentially gotten me so hooked that comics were the last thing on my mind last night.

Nuh-uh. Not at all.

On a totally unrelated note, I'll be drawing a Katamari Damacy storyline for the next story.

I'm sure those things are totally unrealted. And so are you.

Wednesday

Huh, it's wednesday today. Good thing I've got the comic done for today.

...

...

I haven't, huh?
Yeah, I know. Big-@$$ accident on me. Oh well. We had a pretty decent updating-schedule running for a good while, didn't we?
Well, I'll be putting updates on hold for a little while. You see, I'm moving. I'm moving about 100 meters down the street, but it's still a lot of stuff that needs moving and a lot of loose ends that needs tying up.

So updates are on hold 'till wednesday next week. By then things should be fixed up. I'll try and see if maybe I can make some random character-art updates at some point or another.

Thank you for your cooperation, citizen.
